I was confused as to why these past few Thursday night match-ups have been mediocre at best, but when I saw the broadcaster schedule I understood it so clearly. Weeks 2-4 have aired solely on NFL Network, but starting in Week 5 they’ll be simulcast on Fox. Not coincidentally, the Week 5 match-up includes Tom Brady and Week 6 features the defending Super Bowl champs. I don’t blame Fox for seeking out those juicy games, good for them. But what I can’t understand is why the NFL didn’t give it’s own network some love. Don’t you know you’re beautiful? How can you expect us to love you if you don’t love yourself? This disconcerting self-abuse is the reason we’ll be watching the Broncos’ third string quarterback take on perhaps the worst team in the league. Hope you enjoy it NFL, you did this to yourself. But on the bright side, this is a playoff rematch from January ... of 1999. Yeah, don't bother watching.
