QB Situation

Much has been made of the current QB situation on the Seattle Seahawks. Here are my thoughts:

1) Carroll (I'm still not sure of the correct spelling of his last name. Every time I type it out it feels wrong), obviously thinks they have something in Whitehurst and will give him every chance to succeed.

2) Hasselbeck is apparently a goner. (this deserves its own post, and we'll cross that bridge when we come to it)

3) Management thinks there are some solid trade options out there.

4) Draft "experts" (DGP excluded) consistently tell you that drafting for need is NEVER a good draft plan... yet almost every "expert" said we screwed up not taking a QB. WHY?!? I'm not sure there's a SINGLE franchise QB in this draft, and if you don't think a 1st or 2nd or even 3rd rounder has that potential, then what's the frackin' point of taking him?

Same page Mustacheers?

Back to thought #3... A couple of rumored trade targets have included Carson Palmer and Kevin Kolb. Fine options to be sure. What would we give up? Rumors have the asking price for both individuals at a 1st round draft pick. And to that I say...

LET'S DO THIS CHAZ!

GO SEAHAWKS!

(Draft Guru Pete's draft recap will be up late Sunday or sometime Monday. Have a super weekend Mustacheers... I say that assuming there will be no more posts until then. Prove me wrong Party Hosts... prove... me .... WRONG!)

35th Anniversay Seahawks team

I guess they voted on this on the Seahawks website... WHO KNEW!?!?!?

Here's the results:

http://www.seahawks.com/news/articles/article-1/Instinctive-and-productive/760374c2-0ee7-4b90-b671-241dc9f52bc3

Pretty solid actually. Couple of thoughts:

- I think I'd already have Leon Washington as our kick returner though, and probably punt returner.

- As much as I hate to say it, can you make a case for Josh Brown?

- John Carlson? Really? I hope he ends up that way, but there's gotta be somebody else in the last 35 years who was better. Hell, maybe even Itula Mili (sp?). BTW... did he ever pass that crap?

Reasons why the Seahawks WILL win

I'm not gonna post em here because I don't wanna jinx anything, but know that I have a list (seriously) and I will be happy to post it here right after the game is over and the Seahawks are victorious! I know this post is pathetic, but so is this site's current attendance... outside of Sincdog. I really do have a list. And I'll post it g-damn it. Seahawks will win. Just know that. (also... it's Friday night and I ran out of time to post this, and I've got a busy Saturday of rockin and rollin)

Let's see some chatter Mustacheers!!!! (or don't... no big whoop)

Enjoy the week. We'll have an analysis of the upcoming matchup against the Bears later on. It'll go like this. WE FUCK THE BEARS UP!!!

Matt Hasselbeck is our starting QB

Dearest Matt,

I am writing this blog post to you as you prepare for Saturday. And I've hidden it in the one place you would turn to in a moment of great desperation (henrycottosmustache.com). I know you go with the weight of what has happened (this season) on your shoulders. And I know the only person who can ever take it off is you. Sorry to be so dramatic, but these are dramatic times, are they not?

Please don't give up, Matt. Because all we really need to survive is one sports blog that truly loves us.

And you have it. We will root for you. Always.

We Love you,
Penny... er HCM

We begin our second Superbowl run...

And so it begins...

You want analysis? You came to the wrong site. Saturday the Seahawks begin their march to immortality by beating the fucking shit out of the Saints. Next we eliminate the Bears in Chicago and then take care of business back home against the Packers.

It's an exciting time to be a Seahawks fan in 2011. We get to root for the greatest team of all time!

Any group of showboating dickheads can get to 14-2. It takes real balls to sneak into the playoffs at 7-9. GRAPEFRUITS!!!! I tried to find a clip of Vinny Mac saying this but all I found was this.)

Join us for the official start to the celebration this Saturday at roughly 10:00AM on Pier 48. (BUT NO PARKING... so park somewhere else and meet us there). You'll have photo ops with 2 of the 4 Party hosts and I'm sure you'll be able to meet and greet many other Mustacheers. All are welcome, except for pussy-ass Saint fans. SINNERS ONLY BABY... MUWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! (I'm sticking my tongue out right now waggling it around doing devil horns with my hands... fuck it... I'll just post the video...)

See ya there. GO SEAHAWKS!!!

Seahawks vs 49ers

This will be the first time since... well... maybe ever, that I've watched a Seahawks game by myself. So why not include the Mustacheers. That's right! A running commentary on today's epic battle!

Let's go!

The Savior?

Call him what you want: Charlie, Charles, Chaz, Chuck, Jesus, ChazMaTaz, RazzMaChazz, Beauty and the Beast Mode (thank you Wyatt Powell)... I call him the savior.

Charlie Whitehurst is HERE TO SAVE THE SEAHAWKS SEASON!!!

The comparisons to Jesus have been made (some might say the hair and beard are the source of those comaprisons, maybe) and that got me thinking... Didn't Jesus slay a bunch of Giants one Sunday in the Bible? Well Sunday at Qwest... Life imitates art!!!!

Charlie Whitehurst is HERE TO SAVE THE SEAHAWKS SEASON!!!

I can only think of one debut that had this much anticipation. And it was this guy.

Let's hope Chaz doesn't turn the crowd on him as quickly as our friend in that link.

Charlie Whitehurst is HERE TO SAVE THE SEAHAWKS SEASON!!!

GO SEAHAWKS!!!!

Seahawk Football

After an up and down first couple months of the season, the Seahawks are a half game out of first place.

IN THE NFC MUTHA TRUCKAS!!!!

Bring that shit to Qwest!!!!

WE'RE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!

10.05.2010

Say hello to the newest Seahawk!!!

Marshawn Lynch!!!!

And if those pictures weren't enough to get you stoked for Beast Mode... well there's this little diddy:

I've waited for years to root for this dude! Can't wait!

Still need convincing what a bad ass this dude is? Just wait for Erik's (edited) post. Haha! It's fracking hilarious!!!

9.13.2010

Awesome!

Go Hawks! Go Cougs! (I'll even let the Dawgs celebrate a little) Great weekend for Washington football!

By the way, I pretty much nailed my prediction on the game (well 18 off but whatevs)

9.07.2010

Go Seahawks!!!!

Season's about to get uderway, and here's a fun little game for all you Mustacheers to play:

Name 5 current Seahawks. Quick GO!

9.03.2010

F U 9ers

The Niners released two Cougs today (Paymah and Hill). As if I needed another reason to hate those gold digging ass bags. Can't wait to pummel them in the opener.

As a prelude to Erik's weekly picks column, let me jump the gun (Sorry Erik):

Seahawks 49 (on purpose, just for the disrespect) 49ers 6 (a 99 yard garbage screen pass to Gore for a touch... I gotta salvage my fantasy week. Then they miss the extra point when Colin Cole kills EVERYONE))

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!!!!!!

8.06.2010

Ka-Kaw!!!

or the Seahawks "Let's Compete" "Fired Up" thread...

Okung signs. Let's get it on!

4.29.2010

Walter Jones

What can you say about Walter Jones? He's the greatest of all time. There are all kinds of stats to back that up... too many to list here. But here's a fun one I heard from one of our Mustacheers, EP: Walter Jones had as many holding penalties, as he did Pro Bowl Appearances: 9. I know what you're thinking... 9?!?! He only went to 9 Pro Bowls??!?! Obviously he got shafted a few of those years.

Anyway, Big Walt, thanks for the years of service. You will be missed! The best ever!

Day 2 for the Seahawks

I loved Day 1 for the Hawks. I think both players can start next year and help the team immediately. The positions that I would like to see addressed by the second round pick (#60) are DL, RB, CB, G or WR (probably in that order).

Most of the intriguing d-line options will be gone in the first half of the round. I’d like to see the Hawks make a move to get in a position to take Brian Price (DT, UCLA). He’d be a solid player to put next to Mebane. Another DT possible would be Lamarr Houston out of Texas. It will be interesting to see how long Carlos Dunlap (DE, Florida) last. He has potential but has some off-field issues and is inconsistent.

I think the Hawks will have some good running backs to choose from at #60. Montario Hardesty, Ben Tate and Toby Gerhart could all be available at that point and would be a big help to the running game. Hardesty would be my pick if all three were still on the board. If Dexter McCluster is there he would be an interesting option. He’s more of a Spiller-type back that can be used as a receiver, runner and returner.

Five CBs went in round 1, so that position might be a bit thin now. If Chris Cook (UVA) slipped, he would be a nice add to the team. He’s 6’2” and could maybe at least be a better match up against Fitzgerald. Dominique Franks (Oklahoma) is another player I like.

I listed guard because the line needs improvement in more than just the left tackle spot. Someone like Jon Asamoah might fit the blocking schemes well and could be there at the end of the round.

Drafting a wide receiver might be pointless since Mike and Reggie Williams are going to finally live up to their first-round potential, but better safe than sorry. Damian Williams (USC) could be available as could a bigger receiver like Eric Decker (Minnesota).

I guess what I’d most like to see tomorrow is the Hawks make some moves to get a pick in the third round so we have more to look forward to.
