Sanch a Hawk?

Todd McShay has updated his mock draft and has the Seahawks taking Mark Sanchez. Does he have inside sources? Maybe so. But I'm hoping the Hawks are just throwing up some smoke screens to generate some trade interest. Sanch has been shooting up draft boards, so maybe someone who wants him would try and go all the way up to 4.

I guess I would feel OK with us taking Sanch. If he's as good as people think he is, and could be a franchise QB, then we should take him. Chances are we won't be picking this high again for a long time. This would be the one chance we have to take a "franchise" QB. I'm just not convinced he will be as good as advertised.

I would love to hear how my fellow Mustacheers feel about this potential situation.

This seems to be based on the idea that the Seahawks don't ever plan to be this bad again and this is the only shot at a QB this high. It seems like strange logic and I am really torn on him.

He has to be better than that bum Hasselbeck at least. I don't think Sanch has played enough to justify being such a high draft pick. Without that Penn State game he wouldn't even be considered that high. I know you guys signed Housh but I watched a lot of Texas Tech games this year and Crabtree is a beast. I would go for him. Pete should we set up a conference call for the draft? You also need to come to NY to tape Victoria's hands.

although the conference call is a fantastic idea. How many lines can we conference in?

It would certainly be an ... intriguing pick.

I don't think we should do it. I like Crabtree or one of the lineman (or Curry, but I don't think he'll be there). History has shown that good QBs can be found in the later rounds. Of course, the same can be said for most positions. Although, I feel like most of the top OTs in the league were high draft choices.

We can't post our emails, cuz you'll get lit up by spam. Right, Wanamaker? Seriously.

It sounds like everyone has the same feeling about Sanch. Not really sold on him being worthy of a top 5 pick. I'm always a little wary of a guy who shoots up the draft boards based on postseason buzz.

And Ketih, I think the conference call would be fantastic.
