Mock Me Like A Hurricane

Updated Mock Draft. I'll have the final update Saturday morning before the Draft begins.

1. Detroit Lions - Matthew Stafford (QB, Georgia)

2. St. Louis Rams – Eugene Monroe (T, Virginia)
It’s probably going to be J. Smith over Monroe, but I want to stick with my original pick

3. KC Chiefs – Aaron Curry (LB, Wake Forest)

4. Seattle Seahawks – Michael Crabtree (WR, Texas Tech)
I still want this pick to happen.

5. Cleveland Browns – Brian Orakpo (DE/OLB, Texas)

6. Cincinnati Bengals – Jason Smith (T, Baylor)

7. Oakland Raiders – Jeremy Maclin (WR, Mizzou)

8. Jacksonville Jaguars – B.J. Raji (DT, BC)
Might trade out of this spot.

9. Green Bay Packers – Andre Smith (T, Alabama)

10. San Francisco 49ers – Mark Sanchez (QB, USC)

11. Buffalo Bills – Aaron Maybin (DE/OLB, Penn St)

12. Denver Broncos – Tyson Jackson (DE, LSU)

13. Washington Redskins – Michael Oher (T, Ole Miss)

14. New Orleans Saints – Malcolm Jenkins (CB, Ohio State)

15. Houston Texans – Brian Cushing (OLB, USC)

16. San Diego Chargers – Rey Maualuga (ILB, USC)

17. New York Jets – Darrius Heyward-Bey (WR, Maryland)

18. Denver Broncos – Everette Brown (DE/OLB, FSU)

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Josh Freeman (QB, KSU)

20. Detroit Lions – Robert Ayers (DE, Tennessee)

21. Philadelphia Eagles – Knowshon Moreno (RB, Georgia)

22. Minnesota Vikings – Eben Britton (T, Arizona)

23. New England Patriots – Clay Matthews (OLB, USC)

24. Atlanta Falcons – Brandon Pettigrew (TE, Oklahoma St)

25. Miami Dolphins – Percy Harvin (WR, Florida)

26. Baltimore Ravens – Vontae Davis (CB, Illinois)

27. Indianapolis Colts – Peria Jerry (DT, Ole Miss)

28. Buffalo Bills – Max Unger (C, Oregon)

29. New York Giants – Kenny Britt (WR, Rutgers)

30. Tennessee Titans – Evander Hood (DT, Missouri)

31. Arizona Cardinals – Chris Wells (RB, Ohio State)
I don’t think he’ll drop this far, but I couldn’t find any other spot for him.

32. Pittsburgh Steelers – Darius Butler (CB, UConn)

I'm starting to think the Rams take Crabtree.

Pete said...

Yeah, hopefully they don't. I'd hate to have him and Fitzgerald in the division.

Mr. F said...

Who cares? We have seattle march madness standout marcus trufant to shut em down.

Good thing Finn is not doing the mock draft or Hasselbeck would be the first 10 picks. (put him back on the heroes list or this onslaught will continue) Thunder lover!!

Jimi:

A) 10 picks is a waste. Just the # 1 pick of all time will do. He led us to a Superbowl.

B) Do NOT threaten the party hosts with comment onslaughts. We appreciate the participation, but can just as easily removes those abilities for any Mustacheer. I don't want to do that... but you took it there. Remember that.

C)I just wanted to clean up the list. Make it a little more elite. If the other Party Hosts have issue, we will discuss that in house.

D) Your Thunder comment was out of line. An insult of that magnitude needs a public apology... and I think you know that. Do the right thing.

E) See you Saturday. Bring the kids. It's about time they learned how to party.

Does Harvin and his ganja habit keep him out of the 1st round?

and when is the 2-7 mock coming out?

You have Max Ungar falling to 28? Come on. He is the first expected center to be taken in the draft. Hi is also part of the All-Pac 10 Conference first-team choice for the second year in a row and recipient of the Ed Moshofsky Award (team's outstanding offensive lineman) for the third consecutive season...The team captain was also a finalist for the Rimington Trophy, given to the nation's top center...Started all thirteen games, lining up at center for eleven contests and at left offensive tackle vs. Washington and UCLA...Recorded an assisted tackle in the Boise State clash...Led an explosive offense that ranked second in the nation and led the league in rushing (280.08 ypg)...Helped the Ducks lead the Pac-10 and rank seventh nationally in total offense (484.85 ypg) and scoring (41.92 ppg)...Part of a front wall that placed second in the conference, allowing 20 sacks for minus 121 yards, as Unger was charged with 2.5 of those sacks on 373 pass plays...Led the team with 90 knockdowns and seventeen touchdown-resulting blocks... Kept his string intact, as he was never penalized in a game for the third-straight season...Led the offensive line with an 86.62 percent grade for blocking consistency, earning grades of 90 percent or better in each of the Purdue, Washington and Arizona contests...2007: Selected Oregon's Outstanding Offensive Lineman (Ed Moshofsky Award) the second straight season, the first-team all-conference choice was chosen as a first-team All-American by SI.com. That was despite him making the transition from left tackle, where he had started the previous 25 consecutive games as a freshman and sophomore, to center, where he excelled in 13 starts as a junior...2006: The 13-game starter at left tackle earned second-team all conference accolades in addition to receiving Oregon's Ed Moshofsky Award as its top offensive lineman. Played a major role in Oregon finishing second in the Pac-10 in fewest quarterback sacks allowed (16) as well as leading the league in rushing offense (14th nationally) for the first time since 1955... 2005: It's not easy for a redshirt freshman to step in and protect the blind side of a quarterback but Unger did so admirably for 12 consecutive starts and did it well. Was a major reason why Oregon rose from last in the Pac-10 in QB sacks allowed in 2004 (41) to third in 2005 (20). Took part in 80 snaps or more in 10 of 12 appearances at left tackle, including 100 plays at Arizona State, to receive the team's Ironman Award following the season as the player who played the most snaps.

... Good point.

Mack got beat up pretty good at the senior bowl so I think Pete may even be too generous. Pete- I know you are like myself and a fan of Brian Robiskie. As much as I like the idea of Crabtree, it probably means no Robiskie for the Hawks....

Finn-

1) He did lead us to the superbowl. I am not debating his awesomeness. I'm debating that Griff deserves to be on the Heroes list, and that you would take a shot of Hassels chunky soup given the opportunity.

2) Really your going to silence me? That is your response? Gettin' lazy with power, I think sir. Take it easy Stalin.

3) Your saying that Matt is more elite than Griff? I'm not saying Griff is more elite, but at least in the same boat. The man was not just the best player at his position, he was the best player in baseball. And he played for us!! Your just trying to piss people off, AND ITS WORKING!!!

4) Dear Finn, I'm sorry your such a Thunder loving communist. On behalf of Finn I would like to publicly apologize for his communist traitor tendencies. (Jack Bauer would be so disappointed)

5) Would love to stop by dear friend but work calls. As far as the boys and partying, Haaland already knows how to bring daddy a beer.

Mr. F said...

you're having a tough time getting this... So this is the last time I'll try to explain it...

My personal thoughts on the heroes list... Dudes who already get enough credit, don't need it reinforced here.

I'm done with this issue.

To close... There is no bigger Sonics fan in this site.

The end

Ps. I'm sure your kid can drink it faster than you too. You pussy.

jimi said...

you sound frustrated. maybe matt will give you a hug when you get home.

PS. My boy is a house, i'm sure he could.

jimi said...

don't be ridiculous. Griff would never say that. he would just make you fall in love, you would build a house together and you would probably need to change things two or three times to make him happy, then when the house was done to his liking he would leave you for another because that person lives closer to his mom. . . . . . on second thought fuck griffey. I guess trufant is the only true washington hero we have. GO 23!!!!!!!!!!

Pete said...

Sean - Harvin might drop out of the 1st round, but I'm sure some team will overlook the drugs and take him based on talent.
And I'll probably do a 2 round mock, with a full mock for the Hawks' picks. I'm not sure anyway cares about any other picks anyway. But if the fans want to see it, I'll do the whole fuckin thing.

EP - I am a big Robiskie fan and would like the Hawks to take him, but I'd rather have Crabtree. If the Hawks go elsewhere at 4, maybe they go with Robiskie in the 2nd round.

EP said...

More and more I like the idea of Orakpo. That guy is a beast! What do you think the chances of the hawks surprising us and taking him? We need to get after the QB this year or our corners are going to struggle again

Pete said...

Orakpo would be a surprise pick. I think the team should give Jackson some time to develop and see if Kerney can stay healthy. If he does, I think the pass rush should be decent.

Mr. F said...

You know what would have been fun? Doing our own mock draft where Party Hosts and Mustacheers represented teams. Obviously there'd be some arguments orver who got the Seahawks, but we could have worked it out.

You could stretch your ties to a team like if you had lived there or rooted form them as a child.

And then Draft Guru Pete could have filled in for any team that wasn't represented.

For example:

I could have drafted for the Seahawks.

Sean could have drafted for the Falcons.

Wanamaker could have drafted for the Vikings.

Rossolo (if he ever shows up again) could have drafted for the Broncos.

Keith could have drafted for the Giants.

Bobby Batemen could have drafted for Griffendor.

Erik could have drafted for the '9ers (sabotage!).

Maybe a good idea for next year.

Start making your cases for your team Mustacheers! It's never too early!

You hear about the hot new rumor Sal Pal is reporting this morning on Sportscenter?

Apparently Washington is trying to trade with us. We should have known that our smoke signals would fool those stupid Redskins.

Mr. F said...

How much were you holding back on that joke? I've got a few I want to throw out there, but I think I better not.

Erik said...

Well it's actually being reported, so the joke part was kind of an afterthought.

But c'mon, let's hear 'em.

Pete said...

I hear they have some reservations about trading up

Erik said...

Well, Dan Snyder's always been the type of guy who just says "Geronimo!" And jumps right in. And with the team he's assembling he'll have fans scalping tickets all year.

jimi said...

could be a big gamble for the redskins

EP said...

Before they make any big moves, do you think they will take the time to weigh their options? You know, drink it all in?

Mr. F said...

This draft for us. Picking this high is like a whole new world to the Seahawks. The Redskins have been here before. Hopefully they will offer us the assistance we need.

Think there's any chance of us making the trade and then just taking our pick back and forcing them to make picks in the 7th round and that's it?

NY Keith said...

I doubt it finn. Snyder has been raped and pillaged before, I don't think he'd let it happen again. I don't think that dot head would want to go back to working in a convenience store serving curry.

NY Keith said...

Wait what type of indians were we making jokes about?

EP said...

Haha- well done Keith

Mr. F said...

There's the line... Hey! Where'd Keith go?!? Oh! There he is, on the other side of it.
