A-Roid

Well... he cheated. Poor guy. Had the weight of the world on his shoulders. AND HE ADMITTED IT!

Which means America will forgive him. The worst thing you can be in America is a liar. Or an animal abuser.

Just as long as Griffey stays clean throughout all this, I really don't care. He'll go down as the greatest of our generation. (Edgar staying clean woudl be nice too).

Erik - you'll have to enlighten me... I barely remember what you're talking about. Fusco? You still here? Chime in if you can.

Remember Pete's drug awareness movie for Health class? It starred Erik Paulson as Dirk Jamingle, a youth basketball star with the world at his fingertips who gets some bad influences and tries taking speed to improve his game.

If I remember correctly, you and Fusco were hanging around that day so you were cast as the drug dealers. Fusco would stop at nothing to sell his drugs to Jamingle, so one day he showed up at his back door and whispered "50 points guaranteed." Meaning, of course, that if Dirk took the speed he would definitely score at least 50 points the next game. Unfortunately, Dirk gave in and used drugs. He died shortly there after.

Pete, I'm correct here right?

Ha ha. I kinda remember that one. I forgot that I had a speaking role in it, let alone a "famous quote". You guys were always asking for my help with school projects and homework assignments, especially Pete.

I don't have anything funny to add, but this cracked me up.

This is Erik Polson. You may remember me from such films as "The Dirk Jamingle(sp.?) Story" I thought I would give a little insight as to who said the famous quote. Unfortunatly I can't remember. Maybe Scott Kaloper?

my favorite line was "next time you have to pay, ya know for the speed"

Do you know where I could get a copy? I really, really hope it's not out-of-print.

Another great line (which I believe was dubbed for some reason) came from Corey Erwin after he'd reverse slam dunked:

"That one's for my sister punk."

Let's be honest. The whole project was after school special trash. If we wanna talk REAL cinema I could always start a Klondike and Soopar thread or something regarding Prey in the Jungle.

Erik was correct with his original claim that Fusco claimed doing speed would guarantee 50 points. Not only that, he did score 50 points. Fusco wasn't bullshitting.

Erwin definitely had the dubbed line as he dunked on Jamingle. Jamingle was dating his sister and they had broken up earlier that day on account of the speed-taking.

Another great moment in the film was when Andy Foy stole the ball from Jamingle even though his only direction before the scene was to not do something stupid like steal the ball. And who could forget Scott's memorable scene when he confronts Jamingle about the drugs? "Hey man, we gotta go to the game man. Man, how many have of those have you taken today man? Let's go man."

Sadly it all ended for Jamingle when he overdosed and had a blanket pulled over his body while "This Used to be My Playground" was being hummed. His blood is on your hands Fusco.
